Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer

Our client’s cybersecurity team is shifting to an exposure management model and needs a senior, hands-on vulnerability management engineer to help streamline the program. You’ll own the scanning technology, validate real exposure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, and drive findings from discovery through remediation as part of a small, fast-moving team.

• Job Type: Long Term Contract 
• Location: Fully Remote (Pacific Time working hours)
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $65-$75/hour W2
• No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You’ll Do:

• Own and optimize enterprise vulnerability scanning across on-premises, cloud, endpoint, and network environments, including scanners, agents, policies, credentials, and platform health
• Troubleshoot coverage gaps tied to asset discovery, authentication, agent deployment, scanner placement, routing, firewall rules, and network segmentation
• Maintain accurate asset visibility and tagging strategies that support ownership, prioritization, and remediation workflows
• Analyze critical and high-risk vulnerabilities using exploitability, reachability, threat intelligence, and asset criticality, and give technology teams clear remediation guidance through closure
• Maintain and improve integrations between Tenable, Wiz, ServiceNow Vulnerability Response, and other platforms, and build automation using APIs, PowerShell, or Python

What Gets You the Job:

• 5+ years in vulnerability management, security engineering, infrastructure engineering, network engineering, or a related cybersecurity discipline
• Hands-on experience administering enterprise vulnerability management platforms, including integrating multiple platforms in a hybrid environment
• Experience designing, running, and troubleshooting credentialed and unauthenticated scans across Windows, Linux, network, and cloud environments
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, and network segmentation, plus experience validating false positives and prioritizing risk
• Preferred: Tenable VM, Nessus, Wiz, ServiceNow Vulnerability Response or Unified Security Exposure Management, exposure management, and AWS or Azure experience
