Senior PeopleSoft Functional Payroll Analyst (Remote in CA)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PeopleSoft Functional Payroll Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert and functional leader for a long-term PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 environment. This is an opportunity for a payroll professional who brings deep, hands-on expertise in the PeopleSoft Payroll module and understands the complexities of payroll processing within a public sector organization.

This role will support ongoing projects, continuous system enhancements, and evolving business requirements across a complex PeopleSoft Payroll environment.

• Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
• Location: Remote (Must live in CA)
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $155,000 – 162,000 per year plus benefits & a pension plan
• No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the primary functional subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Payroll within a complex public sector environment.

• Serve as the functional subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Payroll 9.2 in a complex public sector environment.
• Support ongoing payroll projects, system enhancements, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
• Address complex payroll requirements involving pensions, 403(b)/457 plans, multiple school districts, and leaves of absence.
• Gather business requirements, develop functional specifications, and lead functional testing and issue resolution.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and IT teams to optimize payroll processes and ensure accurate results.
• Champion PeopleSoft Payroll best practices and support the organization’s long-term investment in PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.

What Gets You the Job: 

• Extensive hands-on functional experience with the PeopleSoft Payroll module.
• Strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.

• Experience supporting complex payroll environments, ideally within the public sector or education.
• Knowledge of pensions, 403(b)/457 plans, multi-district employment scenarios, and leave of absence impacts.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues, gather requirements, and support testing and enhancements.
• Additional experience with PeopleSoft Time and Labor, HCM, Benefits Administration, or Position Management is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to supporting and advancing PeopleSoft long-term, with no desire to transition to another ERP platform.
• Experience with one or more of the following additional PeopleSoft modules is preferred but not required: PeopleSoft Time and Labor, PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Benefits Administration, PeopleSoft Position Management
