Architect, Platform Engineering – Application Packaging & Deployment

Our client is seeking an Architect, Platform Engineering – Application Packaging & Deployment to serve as the technical authority for enterprise application packaging, deployment architecture, automation, and lifecycle management. This role will establish standards, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable application delivery across a distributed enterprise environment leveraging Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management technologies.

• Location: remote
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $82.00-$98.00 per hour on a contract-to-hire basis. Conversion salary is expected to be approximately $170,000-$190,000 annually plus bonus.

What You’ll Do:

• Define and govern enterprise standards for application packaging, deployment, lifecycle management, testing, automation, and release management across endpoint platforms.
• Architect scalable Microsoft Intune application delivery solutions utilizing Entra ID, deployment rings, device targeting, self-service application catalogs, and automated deployment workflows.
• Design and implement PowerShell-based automation frameworks for application packaging, deployment validation, remediation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Support, and business technology teams to ensure application delivery aligns with security, compliance, zero trust, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, design reviews, and escalation support for complex application packaging and deployment initiatives across the organization.

What Gets You the Job: 

• 8+ years of experience in application packaging, endpoint engineering, systems engineering, or enterprise application delivery environments.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Intune, Win32 application packaging, deployment targeting, detection rules, supersedence, application lifecycle management, and endpoint administration.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience, including development of reusable deployment, remediation, and reporting frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of MSI, MSIX, silent installations, setup wrappers, software distribution, software governance, endpoint security, and enterprise application management best practices.
• Experience designing scalable standards and architecture for large distributed enterprises, with the ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
