Accounting Manager (Entertainment/Media)

Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager for a contract-to-hire position that is onsite in Hollywood, CA. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in month-end close, financial reporting, and revenue-related accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational insight. The ideal candidate will have experience in the entertainment industry.

• Location: Onsite in Hollywood, CA
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $45-50/hr plus benefits
• Client does not offer H1 visa sponsorship

What You Will Do:

• Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Manage revenue recognition and bill backs related to sports partnerships, media rights, and operational expenses
• Prepare P&L statements and financial analysis for divisional leadership
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
• Responsible for general ledger activity and balance sheet integrity
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate expense tracking and reporting
• Assist in preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting during the close and reporting cycle
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

What Gets You The Job: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Experience preparing P&L statements and financial analysis
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliations
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Experience working in media, or entertainment industries
• Experience supporting division-level financial reporting
• CPA or CPA track preferred
