Our client is seeking a QA Data Engineer to build automated testing frameworks and improve visibility into data pipeline issues—ensuring trusted insights power business decisions. • Location: Southern California preferred, but open to remote working central time zone hours
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay a base salary of about $75k with some flexibility, plus benefits
• No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You’ll Do:

• Design and execute automated and manual tests to validate data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and data applications
• Build monitoring alerts and frameworks to detect data quality issues proactively
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Collaborate with developers to investigate defects and validate production fixes
• Serve as a self-directed QA resource for the Data Engineering team without relying heavily on existing processes or support

What Gets You the Job: 

• Proven experience automating QA tests, especially for data validation and stored procedure logic
• Hands-on expertise writing and debugging SQL queries from scratch
• Proficiency in JavaScript (preferred) or Python for test automation scripting
• Experience working without an existing data QA framework; able to build from the ground up
• Familiarity with Selenium is a plus but not required
