Senior Java Developer (POS Systems)
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design and deliver scalable enterprise applications supporting major platform expansion and technology migration initiatives. This role is ideal for a self-directed engineer who can contribute quickly, collaborate across technical teams, and deliver reliable solutions within a fast-paced Agile environment. Experience developing or integrating retail point-of-sale (POS) systems is strongly desired; experience with NCR or Toshiba POS is especially valuable.

Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $60.00–$77.00 per hour W2

What You’ll Do:

Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.

Support the expansion and roadmap of a self-service food-ordering kiosk platform, including customer-facing ordering capabilities and supporting integrations.

Help migrate acquired store systems from an on-premises technology stack and Toshiba POS environment to NCR POS.

Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA engineers throughout requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and production deployment.

Troubleshoot application and performance issues while contributing to code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery practices.
What Gets You the Job:

7+ years of hands-on Java development experience, preferably using Java 11, 17, or 21.

Deep experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data, or Spring Security.

Proven experience designing enterprise REST APIs and scalable microservices, with strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

Experience with relational databases and SQL, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD tooling.

React experience is strongly preferred for select openings; retail POS, kiosk, digital ordering, or technology migration experience is also beneficial.
