Vice President, Product Engineering

Our client is looking for a Vice President to join their newly formed Product Engineering group – and this is not your typical VP role. • Compensation: $190k – $210k W2

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and lead the design and implementation of key product capabilities, owning performance, maintainability, and scalability across core platform modules and APIs
• Bring a product mindset to engineering by defining MVPs, framing problems in terms of user value, owning discovery and roadmap planning, and flexing into product management responsibilities as needed
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, AI testing frameworks) to accelerate problem-solving, improve code quality, and drive creative innovation across the team
• Provide technical direction through design reviews, code reviews, architecture coaching, backlog planning, and delivery prioritization – implementing modern CI/CD, feature flags, and automated testing practices
• Champion data-driven experimentation and cross-functional strategy to evolve the product engineering model toward a more automated, adaptive, and insight-driven future

What Gets You the Job:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record as a senior individual contributor or staff/principal engineer in enterprise or financial technology environments
• Strong command of modern architectures including cloud-native systems, microservices, and data-driven platforms, with hands-on experience in modern programming languages, frameworks, and DevOps toolchains
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-assisted development and product tools for design, testing, and delivery – with the ability to advocate for responsible, transparent AI use in engineering workflows
• Ability to connect technical execution with user needs and business outcomes, communicating trade-offs clearly in terms of business and user value
• Skilled mentor and influencer who can elevate team craft, lead by example through collaborative pairing and prototyping, and thrive in a high-energy, cross-functional environment
