Senior Engineer, Cybersecurity (Application Security)
Our client is seeking a polished, hands-on Senior Application Security Engineer to lead efforts in securing enterprise applications across a dynamic and highly visible environment. This role blends secure development, application security engineering, and architecture, offering the unique opportunity to shape and mature the organization’s application security program. You’ll be expected to partner with teams across development, architecture, and security to implement scalable security measures, build governance, and guide secure coding initiatives. The right candidate is a skilled communicator, collaborative by nature, and capable of translating complex technical concerns into clear business decisions at all levels—including executive leadership.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days onsite in Dallas area (Tue, Wed, Thur)
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $130,000–$140,000 + 10% bonus based on performance

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee and support the execution of the Application Security program, providing security governance and guidance across engineering teams
• Partner across IT and development groups to integrate secure practices into the SDLC, including threat modeling, security reviews, and automated assessments
• Drive the implementation and usage of application security tooling (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA, fuzz testing) while maintaining flexibility across technologies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define security metrics and reporting mechanisms that inform leadership and guide remediation priorities
• Mentor developers and serve as the voice of application security—translating risks into actionable strategies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What Gets You the Job:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with secure coding skills in .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
• Deep application security engineering background with 3+ years leading secure coding practices and API protection strategies
• Strong working knowledge of security principles, SDLC integration, and modern security assessment tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, fuzz testing)
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers and executives alike—translating between business needs and technical execution
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, CWE, SBOM, and other application security standards; CISSP or CSSLP a plus
