Network Engineer (Palo Alto)
Our client is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, high-performing enterprise networks. This role offers the opportunity to work on network modernization, cloud networking, and security initiatives while helping establish network standards across a distributed environment. The ideal candidate brings strong networking fundamentals, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently deliver network engineering solutions.

- Location: Port Washington, NY – Onsite (20% travel required)
- Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $87,000-$120,000 annually, plus a 10% bonus.

What You’ll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Panorama to ensure network performance and security.
- Support cloud networking initiatives across Azure and GCP, including network provisioning, connectivity, and integration.
- Lead network segmentation, security enhancements, and troubleshooting initiatives to improve network reliability and protection.
- Establish network standards, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and support the integration of acquired companies into standardized network environments.
What Gets You the Job:
- 3-5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience with strong LAN/WAN fundamentals, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and HSRP.
- Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Palo Alto Panorama.
- Experience with Azure cloud networking, including network connectivity, routing, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Solid understanding of network security, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), network segmentation, and access controls.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Experience with GCP, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Meraki, or VeloCloud SD-WAN is preferred.
