Senior IT Security Engineer (Cloud & Network)
Our client is seeking a senior IT Security Engineer to protect its cloud and network environments and to lead how the organization adopts AI safely. This role goes beyond using AI-powered security tools. You’ll build the guardrails, governance, and controls that balance the business’s growing use of AI against the risks it introduces. As a senior individual contributor on a small team, you’ll have real ownership and a direct impact on how the organization grows securely.

- Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
- Location: Remote (US)
- Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $140,000 – $160,000 per year

What You’ll Do:
- Design, harden, and maintain security across cloud (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, ACLs, segmentation, and PKI
- Own the enterprise AI security strategy, including acceptable use policy, DLP for generative AI tools, and risk assessments of proposed AI/ML solutions covering model security, data privacy, and supply chain risk
- Assess emerging AI-driven threats such as adversarial AI, AI-generated phishing, and deepfake social engineering, and build countermeasures and awareness training around them
- Deploy and tune AI-driven SIEM, EDR, UEBA, and SOAR platforms while leading vulnerability, patch, and risk management and serving on the Computer Security Incident Response Team
- Partner with IT and Network Engineering on design reviews and security architecture, and write security policy aligned to NIST, PCI, CJIS, and privacy requirements
What Gets You the Job:
- 7-10 years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience with deep knowledge of cloud and network security
- CISSP certification (required)
- Proven experience at enterprise-scale organizations implementing AI security strategies, including governance, guardrails, and risk controls for AI adoption across the business
- Strong background with security platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Sentinel, or Darktrace, plus system hardening using CIS benchmarks, STIGs, or USGCB
- Excellent written communication and policy-writing skills, with the ability to serve as a technical resource for IT teams; security experience in financial services or healthcare is a plus
