Senior Back-End Software Engineer (Python/AI)

We have an immediate need for a Senior Software Engineer to join a management consulting company for a 1-year contract. The client is looking for a strong back-end focus (80–85%), supporting enterprise-grade application development that integrates existing Generative AI (GenAI) models (e.g., ChatGPT, Mistral, Gemini). This role combines hands-on back-end engineering with the ability to apply AI capabilities and troubleshoot across the full stack — particularly in enterprise environments.

  • Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Business Hours) 

  • Compensation: This job is expected to pay about 80-100/HR W2 plus benefits 

  • Client does not allow for Corp-to Corp 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Contribute as a hands-on engineer building high-quality, enterprise-grade B2B software products and platforms  

  • Lead development of specific technical components while influencing product design and overall system architecture  

  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and secure software that meets high standards for performance and reliability  

  • Write clean, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews and quality assurance processes  

  • Break down user stories into technical tasks and support agile delivery from development through deployment  

  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide advanced debugging support for production environments  

  • Identify and adopt new technologies, tools, and frameworks to solve complex engineering challenges  

  • Collaborate within an agile team, modeling best practices and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering standards  

  • Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges, escalating when appropriate  

  • Partner with cross-functional teams focused on operational domains such as supply chain, procurement, and product development  

  • Contribute to the development of data-driven and analytics-enabled solutions, including benchmarking and performance insights 

What Gets You The Job: 

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering 

  • Experience with building B2B and enterprise quality products, enabling business capability and objectives through technology 

  • Hands-on skills working with relational (SQL) and No-SQL databases; Postgres and MongoDb/CosmosDb experience is a bonus 

  • Experience in Python development is required. 

  • Deep experience and proficiency in at least one of the following: C# (.NET), Python, and JavaScript/Typescript. Familiarity and hands-on experience in a second from that list is required. 

  • Experience in implementing cloud-native software solutions on AWS, Azure and/or GCP with hands-on experience debugging complex distributed systems using cloud-native observability tooling, experience with cloud-native architecture design a plus 

  • Experience in developing software utilizing containers (e.g., Docker / Kubernetes) is preferable.  Experience with serverless  (e.g., Lambda, Azure Functions) is a bonus but not required. 

  • Recent experience building software solutions which integrate with GenAI resources, LLMs, or Agentic flows.  Experience in prompt engineering for software development use cases. Experience in implementing GenAI capabilities with cloud-native software using modern frameworks (e.g., langchain, lammaindex) a plus 

  • Knowledge of Agile software development process 

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks across either C#, Python and or JavaScript 

  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools and approaches 

  • Experience building enterprise grade ETL pipelines using Azure ADF/AWS Glue/ GCP Dataflow a plus
