Principal Enterprise Architect (Remote)
The Principal Enterprise Architectisa senior technology leader responsible for defining and governing the organization’s enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmap. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role ensures that cloud, AI, cybersecurity, integration, and digital workplace platforms support secure, compliant, and scalable operations while enabling digital transformation.
This leader serves as a trusted advisor to executive, clinical, business, and technology stakeholders, ensuring technology investments protect patient data, meet regulatory requirements, and deliver long-term business value.

- Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $175,000 – $215,000 per year

What You’ll Do:
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards.
- Translate business and healthcare strategies into technology roadmaps.
- Lead architecture governance to ensure alignment, consistency, and risk management.
- Advise executive leadership on technology investments and modernization strategies.
Cloud, Data & AI Enablement
- Provide strategic oversight for cloud and hybrid architectures supporting mission-critical systems.
- Guide the adoption of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
- Promote modern architecture patterns that improve scalability, agility, and resilience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure reliability, security, and value.
Integration, Data & Digital Experience
- Define enterprise integration and interoperability strategies across operational and business platforms.
- Enable secure data exchange through APIs, middleware, and integration platforms.
- Simplify and rationalize the application and data landscape.
- Support a modern digital workplace that improves workforce and clinician productivity.
Security, Privacy & Risk
- Embed security-by-design and zero-trust principles across enterprise architecture.
- Ensure protection of PHI and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare security standards.
- Partner with security and risk teams to proactively mitigate enterprise technology risks.
Portfolio & Investment Governance
- Align architecture decisions with financial and portfolio priorities.
- Support capital planning, investment governance, and value-driven technology decisions.
What Gets You the Job:
- 10+ years of enterprise or senior architecture experience.
- 5+ years in leadership, advisory, or enterprise decision-making roles.
- Demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in regulated healthcare environments or similarly complex industries.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI protection, and risk-based compliance.
- Experience supporting HITRUST or comparable security frameworks preferred.
- Experience with enterprise applications, data, cloud, and infrastructure architecture.
- Proficiency in Azure and Google Public Cloud (GCP).
- Enterprise platform experience including SAP and Salesforce.
- Experience with Databricks and Data Intelligence teams.
- Strong knowledge of SSO (Okta is highly preferred) and Cybersecurity protocols.
- Strong knowledge of integration platforms, APIs, and interoperability frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts and enterprise use cases.
- Proven ability to create or edit/implement SOPs and governance frameworks.
