Cloud Engineer (AWS)
Job Introduction
Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support and enhance a complex AWS-based platform through modern monitoring, automation, and infrastructure best practices. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building scalable, automated solutions, improving visibility across cloud environments, and partnering closely with engineering teams to strengthen platform reliability and performance.

Location: Remote (EST hours)
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $70–74/hr W2

What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement automation within AWS to integrate monitoring, alerting, and observability across infrastructure and applications.
- Build and enhance observability using OpenTelemetry, logging standards, and metrics across AWS services and platforms.
- Develop infrastructure automation for anomaly detection and monitoring using native AWS services.
- Implement and integrate logging and monitoring solutions leveraging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- Enhance cloud engineering practices by automating infrastructure and operational workflows using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD methodologies.
What Gets You the Job:
- 5–7 years of experience in systems or cloud engineering with strong AWS expertise.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using tools such as Python, shell scripting, PowerShell, Java, or .NET.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and AWS services (e.g., CloudFormation, CodePipeline, SSM, Config).
- Hands-on experience implementing observability, monitoring, and logging in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, unit and integration testing, and maintaining high-quality, well-documented code.
