Back End GenAI Engineer (Remote)

Comp: $170–$190K (No Flex) + Excellent Benefits
Overview
A well-known hospital with a noble mission is expanding its internal chatbot into a secure, private, multi-model GenAI platform for employees. You will design backend services, integrate data, add agentic capabilities, and drive key roadmap features. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of backend engineering, AI infrastructure, and regulated environments.
Responsibilities

Build and enhance backend services for internal GenAI applications.

Expand the chatbot into a multi-model, agentic AI system.

Design scalable distributed systems in AWS.

Integrate structured and unstructured data into backend systems.
-
Gather requirements, document solutions, and deliver features end-to-end.

Ensure strong security practices suitable for regulated industries.
Required Experience
-
5+ years backend-focused software engineering.
-
Python with FastAPI/Flask.
-
Cloud engineering (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable).

Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, microservices, serverless.
-
LLMs, RAG, and vector database technologies.
-
Distributed systems experience.
-
Security knowledge + regulated industry background.

CI/CD with Git and modern pipeline tools.
Preferred

Agentic AI frameworks and multi-agent applications.

Performance tuning and optimization.
-
MLOps or ML model production deployments.

JavaScript (React/Node).

Databricks, Spark.

Familiarity with HIPAA/FHIR.
