Senior Software Engineer – Financial Services (C# / .NET / SQL Server)
1-Year Contract | Remote (PST Hours) | No Third Parties
We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance and support mission-critical enterprise applications in a performance-driven, compliance-focused financial services environment. This role combines deep technical expertise with operational ownership and close collaboration across business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using C#/.NET Framework (4.8), WinForms/WPF, and Windows Services.

Manage and optimize SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and schema management.

Own production reliability for 24/7 systems — monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and SLA management.

Implement and maintain robust reconciliation, retry, and back-pressure logic to ensure transaction stability.

Partner directly with business, operations, and risk teams to troubleshoot issues, prioritize enhancements, and ensure seamless workflows.

Deliver compliant software changes in regulated environments (SOX, audit standards) with rigorous documentation and change control.

Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions.
Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years with C#/.NET Framework (4.8), WinForms/WPF, and Windows Services.

Strong T-SQL expertise — query optimization, stored procedure development, and schema evolution.

Proven experience managing and supporting 24/7 production systems.

Deep understanding of reliability engineering, incident management, and operational best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely across technical and business teams.

Strong documentation and change management discipline.

Must be available to work Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours.
Preferred / Nice to Have

Direct experience in financial services or capital markets (trading, risk, or regulatory systems) is a strong plus.
