Our client is a large, privately held enterprise operating at significant scale across multiple business units and geographies. With billions in annual capital deployment and a lean operating structure, the organization is at a pivotal moment. Technology has historically been viewed as a support function. Now it must become a strategic driver of growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
This is a rare opportunity to reset and modernize the entire technology function across North America. The incoming CIO will define and execute a clear enterprise roadmap, transition legacy on-prem systems to scalable cloud solutions, elevate data and analytics capabilities, and introduce practical AI-driven tools that improve workflows and decision-making. Within 24 months, the business expects visible, measurable improvements in systems, reporting, adoption, and overall operational sophistication.

What You’ll Do:
- Define and execute a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap spanning infrastructure, applications, data, AI, and workflow modernization
- Lead the migration from a predominantly on-prem Microsoft environment to scalable, cloud-based solutions within 24 months
- Transform data access, reporting, and forecasting capabilities to support executive decision-making and operational efficiency
- Modernize tools and systems that support both office-based and field-based teams across multiple business units
- Lead and elevate an 15-20 person IT organization, shifting culture from reactive support to proactive innovation and adoption
- Partner directly with executive leadership to align technology investment with measurable business outcomes
What Gets You the Job:
- Proven experience as a CIO or senior technology executive leading enterprise-wide digital transformation
- Demonstrated success modernizing legacy environments and implementing scalable, cloud-enabled architectures
- Strong background in data strategy, analytics, and practical AI implementation
- Experience operating within complex, multi-entity organizations with shared services or federated structures
- Track record of upgrading teams, driving system adoption, and delivering visible improvements within 18–24 months
- Executive presence with the ability to influence CEO, CFO, and cross-functional leadership stakeholders
This role offers the opportunity to redefine how technology powers a highly profitable organization at a defining inflection point. Leaders who thrive in environments that require clarity, urgency, and measurable transformation will find this mandate both challenging and rewarding.
