Senior Power BI Developer (Onsite)
We have an immediate need for a direct hire Senior Power BI Developer to join an industry-leading building materials and construction products distribution company. The Senior Power BI Developer will leverage deep expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and ETL processes to deliver high-performance, scalable BI solutions.
Location: Santa Ana, CA (Onsite)
This job expects to pay about $100,000 – 130,000 annually plus benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Design and build interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring data visualization best practices and performance optimization.
- Create and manage data models to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. Perform complex data transformations using Power Query and DAX.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL databases, APIs, Excel files) into Power BI for analysis and reporting.
- Responsible for designing, building, and testing enterprise business intelligence and data warehousing solutions utilizing Azure SQL Database, and the Azure Synapse analytics
- Responsible for developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards
- Responsible for Power BI development and site administration
- Work closely with business users, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and provide actionable insights.
- Responsible for working with offsite and offshore team members and manage their deliverables
- Leads, mentors, and supervises all Business Intelligence, Analytics Application development staff.
What Gets You The Job:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Power BI development, with a strong understanding of data visualization and reporting concepts.
- Azure skills highly preferred, including Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Analysis Services, etc.
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Report Server.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Hands-on experience working at a high level in Data architecture, Data integration, Data science, Master Data Management, and similar analytical workloads.
- Strong practical knowledge of traditional and agile SDLC methodologies required
- Expertise in designing, implementing, managing, and tuning very large databases in SQL Server is required
- Proficient in the use of SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, SQL and MS Excel.
