Ancillary Healthcare Applications Engineer / Lead (Hybrid)
We have an immediate need for a contract Ancillary Application Engineer/ Lead (PACS, Cardiology, DICOM, etc) to join a leading healthcare system. The Engineer/Project Lead works closely with all engineers across all teams to properly design experiments / create test setups, author test protocols, product development reports, verification and validation activities.
Location: Orange, CA (Hybrid)
This job expects to pay about $70 – 85 per hour plus benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex system/programs independently but provide technical analysis, design, development, conversion, and implementation work
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of medical equipment to ensure peak functionality and extend equipment lifespan
- Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform corrective and preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment which requires moderate intervention
- Conduct corrective maintenance by diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in medical devices, adhering to manufacturer’s guidelines and technical specifications
- Ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards
- Creates and revises existing clinical study and usability protocols to meet product development and project needs
- Demonstrates knowledge of safe and approved troubleshooting techniques on medical devices
- Utilizes basic test equipment and complete repairs in a time and cost-effective manner with patient safety as the primary focus
What Gets You The Job:
- BS or MS degree in Electrical, Computer, Biomedical, Systems, Network Engineering, MCSE, CCNP, CCNA (or equivalent)
- Must have a minimum 8+ years of service experience and formal training working on Medical Computer Equipment, Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS), DICOM, Computed Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiology, Heart Services, OPI, RT, Surgery, Procedure Center, Oncology, PICU, PACU, CVICU, ICU, ED, LAB, Neuroscience, Pharmacy, Palliative Care, Urgent Care, Specialty Care, Information System in a complex networked Hospital environment.
- 5+ years of experience in the development and support of Biomedical informatics
- Experience leading the development of robust open-source applications
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
