Cloud Engineer I (Remote)
We have an immediate need for a contract Cloud Engineer I to join a premier management consulting firm.
Location: Remote working Eastern Time Zone hours
This job expects to pay about $55 – 65 per hour plus benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Architect the solutions primarily around Business Intelligence (BI)/Analytics platforms in a heterogeneous and distributed environment spanning across different domains, data centers & clouds.
- Provides support for BI/Analytics Landscape – Tableau platforms on premises & cloud environments, Alteryx, Microsoft Power BI based out of Gurgaon (India) & San José (Costa Rica).
- Supports the organization’s Tableau Infrastructure, dashboard performance, working with stakeholders/vendors, troubleshooting operational issues.
- Evaluates critical BI/Analytics tiers security issues and AWS cloud services and makes recommendations, such as infrastructure & application patching, upgrades to new versions or successor releases.
- Resolves BI/Analytics infrastructure-related escalated issues.
- Recommends changes, engineered solutions and participates in the implementation.
- Reviews, develops, recommends, enforces, and adheres to BI/Analytics, AWS, Azure systems policies and standards, include policies and procedures on high availability, access management and scalability.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with internal and external business contacts including, but not limited to, other members of the IT organization, other stakeholders (such as portfolio managers, product owners, technical architect), contractors, and vendors.
What Gets You The Job:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology from an accredited college/university
- 3-5 years of work experience in managing, supporting & engineering of Business Intelligence/Analytical tools primarily KNIME, Tableau, Power BI, Fabric, AWS/Azure cloud services
- Strong expertise with the KNIME Platform, including KNIME Server and KNIME Hub administration, user and team management, job queue monitoring, and real-time hub monitoring.
- Strong technical knowledge in Cloud and Containerization Platforms, particularly EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) clusters, with an understanding of architecture components like pods, namespaces, and nodes.
- Expertise with Tableau Online (SaaS), performance tuning, best practices, backup/restore, upgrades, vendor management, security models, data migration, integration, and extensions.
- Understanding working and managing Public Clouds likes Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of RDBMS systems, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, PL/SQL, ETL, BI, and Data Analytics.
- Relevant Tableau, Knime, Power BI, AWS, Azure certifications would be a plus.
