IT Senior Manager – Merchandising Systems (Hybrid)
Join our client, a leading national chain of neighborhood retail stores that boasts unique quality products and the best customer service in the industry as an IT Senior Manager of Merchandising Systems. In this role, you will oversee the applications that support the Merchandising Department’s operations and processes; develop a roadmap for the applications based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research, and industry insight. You will also coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all team members are on the right page. This role reports to the Senior IT Director.
Location: San Gabriel Valley area (hybrid – on-site 4 days a week)
This job expects to pay: $150,000 – 165,000 annually plus bonus and exceptional benefits
What You Will Do:
- Own product roadmap, including writing product definitions, driving cross-functional execution, and working with stakeholders and the development team to assess tradeoffs and feasibility
- Establishes performance goals, develops measurable performance standards, and establishes necessary checkpoints to monitor progress on projects and Kaizens.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, driving strategy and capabilities while handing off to partner teams for detailed definition when applicable
- Set and communicate project timelines and release schedules and reset expectations when things change
- Prioritize effectively, balancing the feature roadmap with tech foundational efforts and bug fixes.
- Manages the workload – makes timely decisions, prioritizes effectively, solves problems, monitors results, and takes remedial action where necessary for project teams.
- Manages partner/vendor relationships for support.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, process-light environment with a continuous focus on the customer experience and delivering business value.
What Gets You The Job:
- 6+ years of experience as a senior product manager, product owner, or tech product manager is required.
- Experience managing product roadmap with multiple projects and ongoing activities.
- Experience creating high-level design visualization and documentation to communicate designs and solutions (BRD, FDD, EPIC, and user stories).
- Experience creating business process improvement documentation by modeling and mapping as-is and to-be processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, within and external to the organization to achieve goals.
- Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well as across organizations.
- Excellent critical and strategic thinking.
- Advanced degree in Product Management or equivalent work experience.
