Data Architect (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Data Architect to join a mortgage banking firm. The Data Architect will evaluate and document the current data landscape, assess the strengths and weaknesses of existing teams, technologies, and processes, design a future-state data architecture, and develop a strategic implementation plan to optimize data management, data quality, and enhance operational efficiency.

Location: Remote

This job expects to pay about $100 – 125 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the data environment
  • Identify data silos, redundancies, inconsistencies, and compliance gaps
  • Document the current state data architecture and processes
  • Develop a target state data architecture blueprint
  • Evaluate data governance and data quality framework and policies
  • Assess existing technology infrastructure and identify cloud migration opportunities
  • Create a phased implementation roadmap with resource allocation and timelines
  • Conduct a cost-benefit analysis of the proposed data architecture initiatives
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the existing data team, including skills assessment and capacity analysis
  • Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of current data-related processes
  • Review the capabilities and limitations of existing data technologies
  • Conduct in-depth interviews, workshops, and data analysis
  • Create comprehensive documentation of the current state
  • Perform skills assessment and capacity analysis of the data team
  • Analyze current processes for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Evaluate existing technologies against industry benchmarks
  • Develop the future state data architecture
  • Create detailed implementation plans

What Gets You The Job: 

  • Strong data architecture experience, including Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, and Medallion Architecture
  • Cloud & cloud migration experience
  • Experience working with data governance and integrations in an enterprise environment
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
