Senior Analyst, Practice Economics (Hybrid)
We have an immediate need for a direct hire Senior Analyst, Practice Economics to join an international law firm. The Senior Analyst, Practice Economics
Location: Century City, Downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, Downtown San Diego, Del Mar, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, or Washington DC.
This job expects to pay about $110,000 – 140,000 annually plus benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Conduct monthly analysis and tracking of budget-to-actuals, and distribute frequent updates to billing attorneys
- Monitor matter openings, work with billing attorneys and secretarial support to open new matters, and liaise with client counterparts regarding matter discrepancies
- Oversee the established matter tracking system, performing monthly reconciliation, tagging of important data in Firm systems, and updating Business Intelligence reports to facilitate monitoring and reporting
- Respond to Practice Group Leaders and Firm Management inquiries regarding key client progress and status
- Provide administrative and strategic guidance to attorneys regarding client processes and arrangements
- Respond to client requests for financial updates regarding budget-to-actuals, and other ad-hoc analyses
- Collaborate with other departments to respond to client survey requests
- Conduct strategic pricing and analysis related to end of year retainer and rate setting
- Coordinate with the billing and collections team regarding monthly processes and applications
- Research and analyze client financial performance to help identify trends and propose solutions where needed
- Evaluate systems and processes currently in place with a critical eye to identify areas of opportunity to increase reporting accuracy and efficiency
What Gets You The Job:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Project management or legal industry certifications preferred
- 3-5 years law firm experience in a pricing/financial analyst, LPM, or practice management role
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; the ability to project a polished, professional image, and communicate comfortably and confidently with all levels of personnel
- Knowledge of law firm billing processes and practices
- Robust oral and written communication capabilities
- Experience with legal accounting systems (preferably Aderant)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote and Outlook
- SQL or other database programming knowledge preferred
- Power BI or Tableau experience preferred
