Network Engineer (Onsite)

We have an immediate need for a Network Engineer to join a leading distributor of best-in-class construction materials. The Network Engineer establishes network standards, analyzes and resolves complex network related problems, analyzes and tests all elements of the network infrastructure, designs secure nationwide networks, and establishes standards based on business objectives. In this Network Engineer role they will primarily be working as the escalation point for any network related issues.

Location: Farmingdale, NY –Must be able to work onsite 4 days a week, remote one day.

This job expects to pay about $110,000 – 115,000 annually plus bonus and benefits.

What You Will Do: 

  • Designs secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company
  • Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services
  • Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions
  • Develops advanced/leading-edge technologies and/or concepts
  • Mentor junior network admin and engineer
  • Independently analyzes and provides innovative solutions to network engineering and design projects

What Gets You The Job: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Network Engineering role
  • REQUIRED experience with Cisco, Palo Alto Firewalls, Palo Alto Panorama, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco Meraki, and SD Wan
  • Ensures solutions are aligned with current and future needs and expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and common routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP and QoS
  • Strong knowledge of common LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN architectures and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of network security including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, LAN segmentation and network access controls
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud hosting network features, strong preference given towards Microsoft’s Azure platform
  • Proficient in disaster recovery environments and business continuity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience
