Information Security Project Manager (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract Information Security Project Manager to join an information management organization. The Information Security Project Manager will play a critical role in leading and managing various information security projects across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, project management methodologies, and effective communication skills.

Location: Remote

This job expects to pay about $70 – 75 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do: 

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of information security projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, task assignments, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls, tools, and technologies to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or obstacles, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate project status updates, milestones, and risks to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, including kick-off, status meetings, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.

What Gets You The Job: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing information security projects from initiation to completion.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
