Associate Director, Sourcing & Procurement (Hybrid)
We have an immediate need for an Associate Director, Sourcing & Procurement to join a biopharmaceutical company. The Associate Director, Sourcing & Procurement will lead the development of sourcing strategies for all manufacturing and direct materials sourcing subcategories and G&A subcategories (e.g. IT, HR, Facility).
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
This Job Pays: $90 – 100 per hour
What You Will Do:
- Develop detailed sourcing strategies including ex-US regions, optimize the vendor basis, and continue improving vendor performance from both strategic and operational perspective
- Strong track record of identifying saving opportunities and executing sourcing projects proactively
- Build and maintain strong partnership with senior executives and department owners
- Assess current vendors and provide insights in bringing new vendors as needed. Vendor benchmarking experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Work closely with the rest of the Sourcing team to align and improve current sourcing processes.
- Act as liaison between internal/external stakeholders on vendor contracts and budgets. Manage change orders, risk reward proposals, earn backs, volume discounts and other pricing terms
- Collaborate with financial planning team on vendor cost forecasting, budgeting, and saving validation
What Gets You The Job:
- BS/BA or equivalent combination of relevant education
- Experience working with international vendors in Europe and work in their time zones as needed
- Experience using e-Sourcing tool such as Coupa to conduct RFP/vendor selection process electronically
- Familiar with sourcing saving report methodology and associated tools such as Smartsheet
- Category knowledge of G&A/Direct materials/Manufacturing vendors in a pharma/biotech firm
- Strong data analysis skill and financial reporting capabilities
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to interpret and comprehend contract documentation
- Ability to take initiative, be flexible, exercise good judgment, interface with all levels of management
- Ability to multi-task and have an excellent attention to detail to ensure the most efficient and cost effective contract solutions are achieved
