Kafka Administrator

Our client, a well-known professional services firm, is seeking a Kafka Administrator with Cloud experience who will contribute to critical, cutting-edge projects working alongside a team of other talented professionals.
Location: REMOTE (working early EDT hours)
This job is expected to pay about $70-75 hour hourly

What You Will Do:
- Building and administering Apache/Confluent Kafka messaging platform in a cloud environment (AWS, EKS).
- Designing and implementing highly available high-volume messaging infrastructure with Apache Kafka on AWS.
- Configuring and managing Kafka brokers, Zookeeper, Topics, and connectors for setup and administration.
- Setting up monitoring and management tools for efficient data growth management.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate monitoring, management tools, and data solutions.
- Working on cloud migration solutions and maintaining production environments.
- Utilizing modern IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Intellij) for effective development.
- Proficiency in Python and Unix scripting for automation.
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
What Gets You The Job:
- 5+ years of experience with Confluent Kafka.
- 3+ years of experience with Confluent Kafka Cloud, Control Central, Confluent Kafka Connect, and Confluent Kafka Security features.
- 2+ years of experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana/Splunk, and engineering cloud migration solutions.
- Strong expertise in Nifi and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with Schema Registry, Kafka connectors (source and sink), and KSQL.
