Sr. Informatica Developer (Hybrid)
We have an immediate need for a Sr. Informatica Developer to join a public land-grant research university in Southern California. The Sr. Informatica Developer will design and architect end-to-end ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
This Job Pays: $65 – 78 per hour
What You Will Do:
- Work with Business Analyst to design dimensional model and source to target (ETL) specifications documentation
- Define and implement data integration strategies, best practices, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation activities to ensure accurate and reliable data within the data warehouse.
- Analyze and understand source data and business processes that may affect the model.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability, considering factors such as data volumes, data latency, and system resources.
- Collaborate with database administrators and data modelers to ensure alignment with data models, database structures, and performance tuning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs, identifying and resolving issues or performance bottlenecks.
- Design and development of ODS Unit test of all ETL development
What Gets You The Job:
- Proven experience as an ETL Developer, using Informatica PowerCenter
- In depth experience with SQL programming and relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or DB2
- Experience with business intelligence technologies and tools, such as IBM Cognos, Business Objects, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), and Tableau
- Must have working knowledge of SQL programming language
- Preferred: Experience in a higher education environment, especially working with student, employee and financial data
- Knowledge of and experience with standard data warehousing techniques, data modeling, star and snowflake schema design and implementation, and design patterns
