Network Engineer

We have an immediate need for a Network Engineer

Location: El Segundo (onsite) This is a Full-Time, position working Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

This Job Pays:$80-130k 

What You Will Do:  

The primary responsibility of Network Engineer is to maintain, support, develop and, in some cases, implement network communications between organizations and stations. Additionally, the network engineer will support IT Manager and Project Management Team on special projects.

We are looking for someone who can manage multiple projects at a time, comfortable working directly with clients to explore and translate needs/want, providing alternative solutions, and ensuring the proper team is in place to deliver the result.

Ensure connectivity between stations and global network

Configures and maintains network switches

Design and tests network architectures

Provides telecommunication solutions to increase efficiencies, and expand network services

Log and monitor bandwidth rates between stations and global network

Provide analysis for improvements of network and design project plan for implementation

Resolves outage and trouble conditions on network platforms. Engages vendors as needed for support and for executing on vendor identified actions during issues

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of network platforms

Works with upper management to help develop and implement network infrastructure to provide new client services, such as warehousing and logistics

Supports new product deployments with installation, integration, testing, documentation, and training. Develops methods and procedures for troubleshooting connectivity issues due to firewall failures.

Responsible for the configuration, deployment and maintenance of the enterprise security infrastructure.

Monitor all Windows system alerts and assist to resolve complex issues in system hardware and software.

Administer efficient work of servers and system and provide support to everyday operations.

Analyze system for failure and assist to restore files with help of operating system.

Manage application of various window patches and security controls.

Manage and monitor system plans and supervise all activities for plan and unplanned systems such as migrating or implementing a WMS system.

Install and configure various products on window operating systems.

Manage LDAP and Active directory systems

Administer and execute and manage all backup activities.

Support TPE in the management of databases, monitor trouble tickets and provide appropriate resolution for same.

Collaborates with project team and ensures that network and system access deliverables are met and meet customer needs

Sets procedures and implements strict access control while maintaining the firewalls and all appliances up to date

In case of breach of security due to  limitation of firewalls  or any other reason, investigating the cause(s), providing for any loss arising out of the breach, and taking approaches so that such breaches do not occur again

Install and configure FortiVoice appliance for VOIP while maintaining the patch update schedule.

Plan for porting of existing phone lines to the new phone carrier and assure a smooth transition to VOIP. This include calling and working with owners of phone lines

Develop strategies to roll out new VOIP system in remote locations and guide personnel on the usage of the phones

Configure and setup phone sets for transfers and new users.

Maintenance of phone profiles and configure new requests on the Auto attendant for stations

Work with HQ to implement Trans -Pacific and Trans-Atlantic VOIP.

What Gets You The Job:  

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a 4-year college or university

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a Network Engineer role and in Customer-Facing Project Management role.

Knowledge of leading industry technologies with a strong knowledge around IT governance

Knowledge of 3rd party logistics, transportation systems, and/or warehouse management preferred

Essential Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage more than one project at a time.

Ability to coach people and work as a team
