Technical Project Manager (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a Technical Project Manager to join a public land-grant research university in Southern California. The Technical Project Manager will apply their skills as a seasoned, experienced technical project management professional with a full understanding of project management framework, relevant policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues.

Location: Remote, must work Pacific hours (local to Irvine, CA preferred)

This Job Pays: $70 – 78 per hour

What You Will Do:

• Document and track detailed meeting minutes for every project meeting including identified action items, risks, and issues.
• Manages projects of diverse scope, size, impact, and budget and/or project team size. Has overall project management responsibility.
• Assembles and supports moderate to large project teams, develops detailed project charter and schedule, develops budget, and resource requirements.
• Collaborates with project teams in an effective and collaborative manner to meet project deliverables with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
• Oversees the project from initiation to closing including system integration and setup of post-delivery operational support and maintenance.

What Gets You The Job: 

• 5+ years of direct, hands-on IT project management experience.
• Five to ten years relevant experience with BA/BS in related field, or three to five years relevant experience with MA/MS in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Project Management in an IT environment.
• Strong ability leading colleagues and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, milestones, and critical success factors and gates for moving from phase to phase.
• PMP required.
• CSM, ITIL certifications.
• Knowledge of Smartsheet , Confluence, JIRA or other project scheduling/collaboration tools.
